My husband and I have been eating here since it was Thai Smile. In fact we still tend to call it Thai Smile :) The food is consistently excellent and the waitresses are always SO nice and cheerful. My husband almost always gets the red curry chicken and raves about it. I almost always get the Pad Woon Sen with chicken and it's the best I've ever had (and I'm from an area of the West Coast inundated with Thai restaurants). Now and then I have their "chicken soup" (not on the menu but they will make it for you and it is SOOOO good). We also love their spring rolls. I could probably eat an entire meal of just spring rolls and their fabulous dipping sauce. If you like your food spicy, they will make it spicier than heck if you ask them to. A 3 out of 5 spicy will probably kick most people in the posterior ;) We normally pick up the food and bring it home. It's always packed and presented well and usually done in 10 min or so (even though they always say 15-20 min). My only complaint would be that they don't use fresh mushrooms. They use canned. And they don't have a brown rice option for hubbs. But that's not going to stop me from rating them 5 stars. :)

My husband and I have been in the area for 3+ years and have been getting tired of the usual options we have for dinner within a reasonable distance of our home. Mind you, we aren't super adventurous with our eating, we're very basic and bland, and any ethnic food usually scares us off and we do NOT do spicy anything. That being said, I love Thai 9 but it's not a super practical option for us with a 3-year old. I stumbled across iYara Thai here on Yelp and was quite impressed with the excellent reviews and how good the food looked. I was pleasantly surprised to see it was right around the corner. I'm not even sure how I'd never seen it before, being located in the same plaza as the Huber Heights Library. We decided to give it a try and we are big fans now! The staff is very friendly, and I enjoy being able to call in my order and come pick it up within 10-15 minutes or so. (You can also dine in if you so choose.) We ordered the Chicken Pad Thai with a zero spice level and it is magnificent. It's so good that it's the only thing we've ever ordered despite multiple visits, although I'm open to trying other menu items someday! The dinner portion is HUGE! My husband and I both split the dish and can never finish it, so we always have leftovers. Convenient location, tasty food, friendly staff, reasonable prices - this place has it all!

Fantastic. Small family run operation. We had a 4 different plates. Shrimp and Green beans, Drunken noodle with tofu, veggie pad Thai and Ginger Delight with shrimp. All were fantastic. Not super sweet or saucy as "fast" thai food generally is. Great atmosphere to dine in or take out. Dinner Entrees $10.50 - $13.50 depending on meat. GREAT portions. Appetizers were all under $5. The menu is huge and there is something for everyone! Closes at 9:00, 9:30 on the weekends.

Great food! Server was super-nice, and very attentive. One negative, she told us the moment she greeted us "we're closing in 30 minutes so I'll take your order right away". This made me feel a little hurried. I wish restaurants would just post their closing time one hour early, this way diners can come 1 minute till close and not feel like they are keeping people from their families. That being said, it was a great experience and I'd certainly recommend it. Dayton is becoming a Thai hot spot!

My boyfriend and I tried this place a few days ago...and let me tell you, from start to finish, I was extremely satisfied! The last time I came here was when this place was called Thai Smile. I remembered having amazing ice cream here back then, which is what drew me back. I ordered the crab rangoon as an appetizer...and I'm not sure if they make them homemade, or purchase a higher quality brand...but WOW. They were delicious! I ordered Pad Thai and my boyfriend ordered the Green Curry. I previously have never tried curry before...and, WOW again! I have been talking about this place non-stop to everyone. To top it all off, the coconut ice cream is decadent bliss. The waitress was very friendly and eagerly answered all the crazy questions we had about the menu. ^.^ What an unexpected place to find this restaurant! We'll be back, again and again!

Went here for carry out lunch today, got Pad Thai and crab rangoon. The crab rangoon was excellent, the Pad Thai was HORRIBLE. Dry and weirdly spiced. I might try the yellow curry here but never again any noodle dishes.

This was my husband and my first time here. Our server was delightful and the service was very quick. My husband ordered the cashew chicken with a level 3 spiciness and I ordered the pad Thai at a level 3 spiciness and it had just the right amount of kick to it. The cashew chicken pleased even my very picky husband! The pot stickers were a little over cooked and the spring rolls were just so so. But overall very satisfied!

We stopped by on a drive from Chicago to Columbus, and we were very happy with our dinner. The staff here was so nice! Our food was well prepared and very flavorful. I had a yellow curry with tofu and my partner had the basil tilapia and a mango chai. Don't be afraid to punch up the spice- we asked for medium and found it mild.
(5)
Patricia E.
Our waitress was extremely polite and upbeat. Everything came to the table quickly. The money bags were really interesting and good. The wonton soup was ok, but the curry was Awesome. I wish I had saved room for desert. I've been told the ice cream is delicious.

The second time I went here I ordered the ginger delight with chicken for lunch. It was great. There were a lot of vegetables in it and you can really taste the ginger in it. I ordered the level 4 spice which was hotter than the last time I ordered the level 4 but it hit the spot for me. Mixing the rice with the dish is the way to go. Much more tastier that way in my opinion. I ordered take out and it was ready in about 7 minutes. Very quick service and very friendly staff. I will definitely be back as the food and service does not disappoint.

I don't dine here as often as I want too. Which is a total shame because it's a lovely place to eat. They have friendly staff who will give you all the help you need with their menu. The menu itself isn't crowded with millions of dishes to choose from because there's nothing worse than an overwhelming menu. I always get the same appetizer when I stop by and no surprise it's crab rangoon. It's consistently wonderful and you can't go wrong ordering it.

I recently moved from Chicago where I lived between two top-notch Thai restaurants-- so finding a new one for a casual lunch and takeout has been a challenge in Dayton. (Lovely as Thai 9 is, sometimes I want to eat noodles in yoga pants for $8.00.) Since I've been here I have eaten at iYara almost weekly. Their lunch special is well priced, well portioned with lots of options and includes an appetizer of soup or salad. (May I add their soup broth is evening amazing.) I order the Drunken Noodles mostly with tofu, spice level of 3 and its consistent, delicious and great portions. The servers are super attentive and kind. There's also thai iced coffee available and I always try to get a spring roll for an extra $1 which tastes great. Can't recommend it enough, you'd be surprised at the great little, well kept restaurant hiding next to the BMV and title office.

Since introducing my wife to this place we have eaten there almost every week for the past 8 months. Pad Thai, Green Curry, and Tangerine Chicken are amazing. And they have great lunch specials that are VERY reasonable. Dinner portions are very large; enough to have lunch the next day. Service can be a bit slow, but the servers are friendly and the food is good.

No bourbon chicken :-( It's just a bit underwhelming. I love me some Thai food. LOVE it. but unfortunately Iyara Thai just does not satisfy my needs. Which makes me sad because I moved away from my favorite Thai restaurant and this one is right down the street from me. The food is bland. I've tried everything from the chicken pad thai to the drunk man noodles. And I was not impressed with the food or the prices.
(2)

My husband and I love Iyara! We have eaten at the restaurant a few times, but find ourselves getting take out more. The stir frys are always fresh, their noodles and rice dishes are just as tasty. We also love the money bags, a fried bundle of shrimp and veggies with a yummy dipping sauce. Can't go wrong with anything off the menu. It's nice to have Iyara in the area when all there is in huber heights are pizza places and chains!

I have been searching for a yummy green papaya salad for years. It's simple enough, but Iyara finally delivered it for me here in Dayton. Everyone raves about Thai joints all over town, but Iyara is REALLY good. It tops places both in and outside Dayton. My husband and I talked about how it reminds us of some awesome Thai we have had in Hawaii and beyond. We also shared the fried rice and the duck curry, everything we tasted was wonderful. It was also very very fresh. They added seasonal veggies to each dish and that just hit the spot. Finally, the service was amazing. Our waitress was kind, considerate and excellent at her job. Always provides great service and excellent food. Iyara has some of the best Crab Rangoon. The meals taste very fresh and prepared to order. We have never had a bad meal here. Something to be cautious of however is the spice levels 1-5... they are always a surprise. One time I ordered a level three on my sweet and sour (came with fresh pineapple!) and it wasn't spicy at all. Another time I ordered a level 2 on a different dish and it was blazing hot. Usually my date and I order the same level on different meals and it is typically different but still delicious. I almost forgot... they even make their own ice cream!
Great service and great food. I'm so happy I found this place and can't wait to go back! I would definately suggest the red curry, but keep in mind my medium spice level turned out to be pretty hot,so i'd tend to ask for a lower number if you aren't into super spicy food.

Well who would have figured that Dayton would have so many Thai places to choose from. I have eaten in several in the area and think I have found my favorite. So far the best of the ones I have been to. Started with the dumplings - not too heavy or over steamed. And 4 was just the right number. Followed with the honeymoon chicken, instead of one of my usual noodle choices. Very good - nice crispy chicken in a delicious sauce. Only minor quibble - asked for medium spice, got more on the mild side. But I do realize that heat is subjective. Very clean, friendly service and overall nice place, even for a semi abandoned strip mall. Probably be back

I want to start of by saying I really hate Thai food. However, I enjoyed the food at iYara Thai. We called before driving over to make a reservation for two and they were able to fit us in. When we got there, the restaurant wasn't too busy. And there was plenty of parking. We ordered the moneybags appetizer and the duck curry, wonton soup, and honeymoon fish. The meal was pretty good. And it came out fast. Everything about the meal was good except maybe the duck. I probably wouldn't order the duck curry again, but would probably replace it with the chicken or pork curry. We ordered the spicy next to Thai spicy for the honeymoon fish, but it wasn't spicy at all. I was able to eat it and I don't eat spicy food. Service here was great, the ladies who worked here were friendly. I will be coming back.

First don't expect high end food. That said, it's definitely a couple of notches above take out. Your best bet is to try the the more unusual offerings. The soups and pineapple chicken with red curry were delicious. Try the avocado appetizer! You can choose your spice level which is nice. Red curry is spicy even at level 1. Just a pleasant bite the tongue gets used to quickly. Service was great and the place was clean. A big plus is the music was soft and unobtrusive. They do have 2 TVs but the volume was off thank goodness. Definitely a pleasant meal.
What a diamond in the rough here in our itty bitty city! The food is amazing, the place is beautiful& cozy; the staff makes the dining experience all the better, they are welcoming and excellent at making everything just right!

The money bags were alright for a first course, I wasn't impressed but they weren't bad. The soup was excellent, but it was a grey overcast day so it was perfect for soup and spicy food. I ordered the drunken noodles for a main course they were also excellent. The most outstanding thing was the waitress who was so happy I think she rubbed off on me and made my day. This is probably more of a 3 star place, but she is worth a star.

Loved the food and staff. We will definitely be regulars. Tom Kha was excellent. Also tried the honeymoon chicken level 3. It's chicken sautéed in a spicy Sweet chili sauce. It was a nice break from our regular Thai favorites of Pad Thai or Panang Curry. Can't wait to go back and try these staples.
